Septic Compliance
Residential additions and basement finishes require a current compliance inspection performed and needs to be included with your permit application submittal. You will need to specifically ask the inspector to comment in writing, that the current septic system can handle an increase in the number of proposed bedrooms.
Online Permitting
Rum River Consultants is pleased to announce the introduction of online permitting services for the City of Nowthen through our platform, Baseline.
To access our user-friendly site, simply click the Baseline button below. Once selected, you will be brought to the permitting website where you can choose the option to "Apply for a Permit". A prompt will occur for you to create an account or sign in to the platform.
Once you have established a user account, conveniently track and manage all of your permits by selecting the "View Permits" option. *Please note, this will be for permits applied for and issued after March 1, 2024. Thank you!

Online via credit card or electronic check For this option, you will find a direct link for payment in the email sent to you from Baseline, once your permit is approved. The service fee for credit cards is: 2.9% plus $.30. The service fee for ACH Direct Debit is .8% with a maximum of a $5 fee. The service fee for electronic check payments is $1.50.
